Well that escalated quickly! The U.S. has dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan. A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, nicknamed MOAB, was dropped at 7 p.m. local time Thursday by an MC-130 aircraft, operated by Air Force Special Operations Command. MOAB or “MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS” or Massive Ordinance Air Blast depending on who you ask, lol, is a 21,600lb piece of American awesomeness with state of the art GPS-guided systems.

“We kicked it out the back door,” one U.S. official told Fox News.

This video shows the bomb doing it’s thing and provides more information on the matter.

For comparison to the 21,000-pound MOAB, each Tomahawk cruise missile launched at Syria last week was 1,000-pounds each.

They also stated that every precaution was taken to avoid civilian casualties. This is the first time a MOAB has been used in the battlefield, according to the US officials. This munition was developed during the Iraq War.
