Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims that Americans support socialism in the U.S., but First Lady Melania Trump has something to say about that. As one example, Ocasio-Cortez says Americans agree with socialism and that it would be better for the country than capitalism.
“To me, what socialism means is to guarantee a basic level of dignity,” Ocasio-Cortez told Vogue.
“It’s asserting the value of saying that the America we want and the America that we are proud of is one in which all children can access a dignified education. It’s one in which no person is too poor to have the medicines they need to live. It’s to say that no individual’s civil rights are to be violated,” she added.
Well, First Lady, Melania Trump had something to say about that.
During a rally on Monday in Miami, the first lady joined her husband, President Donald Trump, on stage and absolutely scorched AOC and socialism.
While introducing President Trump to a crowd of mostly Venezuelan-Americans, Melania asked Americans to “pray together” for the people of Venezuela, who “are on the brink of reclaiming their own liberty.”
“It is wonderful to be here today in the beautiful city of Miami. The president and I are honored to stand with all of you as we together we support the people, the great people of Venezuela,” Melania said.
“I am proud to be here with you in the United States of America as your first lady. Many of you in the room know what it feels like to be blessed with freedom after living under the oppression of socialism and communism,” Melania added.
She continued: “In Venezuela, the people are on the brink of reclaiming their own liberty. Today, we must let the Venezuelan people hear us all with one, united voice. There is hope, we are free, and we pray together loudly and proudly that soon the people of Venezuela will be free as well.”
