In a speech Tuesday night in Washington, President Donald Trump praised Katharine Alexander and her adoptive family. The now 4-year old beautiful little girl was born with an opioid dependency. Upon finding out about the baby’s condition, Katherine’s biological mother decided to give her up for adaption, reportedly out of fear of the type of care Kathrine might need.
The child’s biological mother chose to spare Kathrine’s life and put her through the adoption process. This remarkable little girl has big dreams that Trump shared on stage at the pro-life gala, earlier this week.
“Katharine’s 4 years old and she is full of incredible energy, spirit, and talent,” Trump told attendees at a gala hosted by the pro-life organization Susan B. Anthony List. “At the age of 2, she memorized ‘America the Beautiful.’ She recites poetry, and recently she announced to her dad that when she grows up she wants to be a famous police officer. And then when she gets tired of that, she wants to become president.”
“So tonight, we celebrate you, Katharine,” the president continued. “We celebrate your life … and we celebrate all lives. We celebrate the loving choice of adoption.”
“Katharine reminds us that every life is sacred and that every child is a precious gift from God, so true. As the Lord says in Jeremiah, ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart.’”
As Reported By Matt Richardson With Fox News:
President Trump on Tuesday night urged pro-life supporters to keep control of Congress in the hands of Republicans this November by voting “for life.”
Speaking at the Susan B. Anthony List’s annual “Campaign for Life Gala” on Tuesday night, the president slammed Democrats and pushed for continued GOP control, adding that “Democrats like to campaign as moderates at election time but when they go to Washington they always vote for the radical (Nancy) Pelosi agenda down the line.”
The comments followed an initiative announced last week by the Trump administration geared toward resurrecting a rule banning federally funded family-planning clinics from discussing abortion with patients.
Trump noted his push during the 2016 presidential campaign to defund Planned Parenthood.
“When I ran for office I pledged to stand with life and that’s exactly what I’ve done,” Trump said Tuesday. “For the first time since Roe v. Wade, America has a pro-life president, a pro-life vice president, a pro-life House of Representatives and 25 pro-life Republican state capitals.
