The majority of these stories about the Biden regime begin with the phrase “You won’t believe this.” This time is no exception.
The Biden regime is reminding schools that if they don’t comply with LGBTQ+ policy, low-income students would forfeit federal subsidies for school lunches.
You read that right. Joe Biden is literally threatening to take kids’ lunch money if the school doesn’t bend a knee to the Democrats’ radical agenda of embracing mental illness and teaching it to kids.
Last month, the Food and Nutrition Service of the US Department of Agriculture announced it will stop feeding poor students’ lunch through the National School Lunch Program, which we pay for with our tax dollars, if their public school does not embrace the administration’s interpretation of Title IX, which maintains that the federal civil rights law’s provision that forbids discrimination that is based on sex includes designations of gender identity and gender identity.
If schools want to continue getting federal dollars to feed low-income students, they must comply with pro-transgender rules in sports, housing, locker rooms, and bathrooms.
What does a low-income children’s lunch program have to do with LGBTQ+ policies? Isn’t it illegal for the Executive branch to take money appropriated by Congress for a specific reason and then use the funds for another policy or program?
If you recall, Democrats were in tears when President Trump asked if he could borrow from a different program to help him build a border wall. Remember the misappropriation of funds accusations?
Biden is using school lunch money to get his way. How is this different from when Joe Biden threatened Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko with $1 billion in aid if he didn’t fire the prosecutor investigating his son Hunter Biden and Hunter’s firm, Burisma Holdings, for corruption?
Can you point me to a provision of the US Constitution that allows the federal government to establish a school meal program?
Immediately after taking office, Joe Biden signed an executive order that was illegal. He didn’t have the authority to write an executive order, but that never stops him.
A spokesman for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called the Biden administration’s decision to “withhold meals from impoverished children” “appalling.”
“We will not allow Biden to force Floridians to choose between children’s food and parents’ rights,” Christina Pushaw, DeSantis’s press secretary said. “That is the kind of ‘decision’ that a totalitarian regime would force upon its citizenry.”
I say states should sue the federal government for school meal tax monies and manage it themselves. The federal government doesn’t have Constitutional authority to do a school meal program, therefore this is a wonderful moment for states to tell the Biden administration to go to Hell because they’ll do their own.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem said her state will sue if Biden does this.
“Joe Biden has threatened to take away children’s school lunch money to pursue his radical agenda,” Noem said. “He’s targeting states like ours that make it clear biological men do NOT belong in girls’ bathrooms and sports. If you act on this, Joe, we’ll see you in court and we will win.”
How cruel is it to use disadvantaged children to force a policy they don’t want?
“All people should be treated with dignity and respect, but it’s wrong for the federal government to take away free meals from economically disadvantaged students if their schools do not embrace radical gender ideology,” Greg Baylor, a senior counsel at the Alliance Defending Freedom, told the Washington Free Beacon.
Joe Biden’s executive order on preventing and combating discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation permits transgender students to use boys’ or girls’ bathrooms and play sports with either sex. In the end, this nonsense is harming females who are getting screwed out of things they should be achieving in but trans kids are taking over. Things like girls’ sports where boys who say they’re girls are dominating. Many ramifications follow. Many female athletes rely on sports for college scholarships, but they’re losing them to boys who can’t compete in male leagues.
This government overstepped its power by threatening to starve underprivileged kids unless their public school adopts the nonsensical concept that a student can claim to be the opposite of their biological gender. I don’t see how this unconstitutional presidential order will stand.
