Former politician (or wannabe politician), Chris Barnett of Oklahoma is being charged with some serious crimes after shooting at a man who was serving him eviction papers.
(Heavy) On July 24, a video captured by Chris’ security camera shows a process server knocking on his door to serve him eviction papers. The video shows the two men arguing when the process server turns around to leave.
As he walks back to his car, Barnett appears to yell at the man. As the process server turns around he shoots him in the elbow. He was arrested by the Tulsa police and charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
According to Tulsa World,
A former Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate who is jailed on felony charges related to a shooting and alleged threats against the University of Tulsa pleaded not guilty to the charges on Thursday, and his attorney released surveillance video of the shooting.
The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office charged Christopher Jonathan Barnett on July 25 with threatening an act of violence, one day after his arrest for shooting a process server at his south Tulsa residence. Prosecutors on Tuesday charged Barnett, who initially was accused of shooting with intent to kill, with one count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
One of the attorney’s said that police had discovered evidence that Chris Barnett at one point had said the “only good process server was a dead one.”
This man is definitely going away for a while. He’ll never run for office again, that’s for sure.
Live Leak reported that Barnett says he was startled when he heard a knock on his front door at 9 p.m. at night and saw a man who he didn’t know standing on his porch.
“He’s pushing on the door, so he’s trying to break into my house,” Barnett says, adding that he eventually opened the door.
Barnett says he told the man to leave, but he didn’t.
Barnett claims that he saw a gun in the process server’s pocket, and he saw the man reach for the weapon. At that point, Barnett shot the man in the arm.
This is a load of BS if you ask me, take a look for yourself and see if it looks like he reaches for anything.
