Fact-checkers are a fairly recent phenomenon in our world. One would imagine, at least for someone who valued the accuracy of information, they’d be a good thing. However, most of the time, these so-called “fact-checkers” aren’t factual at all.
Invariably, the entities responsible for supposedly providing us with factual checkups of the wealth of information we digest are liberal. Sorry, but they are. Most of these “purveyors of truth” have been born out of the progressive left’s desire to change a narrative.
If they don’t like the “facts”, or the opinions about something that contradicts their narrative, they attack it with a bombardment of “fact-checkers”. Anyone paying attention to the “real facts” finds it often rather amusing. Social media has a staff of the most annoying fact-checkers of them all.
However, there’s a staff of dedicated truth hounds who watch various news media sources. One group, Politifact, is most enamored with keeping a watchdog eye on the news about politics. In a recent “fact checking” incident, Politifact stuck their facts in their mouth.
Maria Bartiromo, the FOX Business Network host and the host of Sunday Monday Futures, was making an appearance on Jesse Watters’ “Primetime”. Like millions of people watching war developments in Ukraine, Russian, oil is an important topic of concern.
That’s what Watters and Bartiromo were discussing. When it comes to business, especially business on a global scale, Bartiromo knows her business. The FOX Business host pointed out how Joe Biden’s energy policy triggered a doubling of U.S. oil imports from Russia.
Anyone with a smidgeon of common sense can see how crucial this has been in the Ukraine crisis. The Biden administration is essentially funding the Russian war machine. It’s insane. Politifact ran a column on Monday disputing Bartiromo’s claims.
The so-called fact-checkers gave it a “mostly false” grade. However, when it comes to energy import numbers, these are recorded facts. It appears that Politifacts’ supposed facts are not facts at all. What they did was take an unrelated chunk of data and try to pass it off as relevant.
The statement wasn’t “mostly false”, it was 100 percent factual. However, Bartiromo’s statement made Joe Biden look like a fool. That seems to be the most pressing agenda for these fact-checkers. They’re not interested in facts. They’re cover for failing liberal-left policies.
They work feverishly to try to mark everything that makes Joe Biden look bad as false. It’s rarely, if ever, the case. These liberal-leaning purveyors of truth must be working round-the-clock to keep up with Joe Biden and the numskulls he has in his administration.
Every time one of these fact-checkers gets caught fudging the numbers or distorting the facts, it chips away at what little credibility they have left, which is very little indeed. Soon, someone will need to come up with another host of fact-checkers to check the fact-checkers. You know, “Just the facts, Ma’am.”
