Former Seattle Police Chief Exposes Lies in Media Coverage of “CHAZ/CHOP”

Last summer, former Seattle chief of police, Carmen Best resigned following the “Summer of Love” aka full-blown violent riots and calls to defund the police which would only put her and her team in greater danger.

These calls came following both BLM and Antifa completely ravaged various cities, including Seattle and established their own little autonomous zone CHAZ/CHOP, an area where police were not allowed to enter.

Adding insult to injury, the police department had to walk on eggshells to avoid looking like the racist bullies they were accused of being by activists and the leftist media.

As a guest on former British police officer Jerry Ratcliffe’s podcast, “Reducing Crime,” she revealed something that everyone but rabid followers of the MSM knows — that the “autonomous” zone was deceptively painted by the media as a peaceful refuge from the city’s supposedly violent police department.

Meanwhile, “peaceful protesters” threw rocks at cops, shot each other and accused police of abusing them — all while restricting entry into the Zone. Carmen Best explained that she left the force not because of a 40-percent drop in her salary but due to proposed layoffs and the lack of respect shown to the entire Seattle police department.

According to The Daily Wire,

“I would read stories about the peaceful protests. I go, ‘Well, part of it was peaceful.’ But I was standing 20 feet away from a hail of rocks. I was looking right at them hail down, feet from me. I was behind a telephone pole,” Best said.

Ratcliffe responded by saying: “And then you read the media and find that they’re pretty much gaslighting you. It never happened.”

Best said she was confused when reading about the interactions with rioters in the media, who claimed it was a “peaceful protest” and that protesters were unfairly and harshly targeted by police who threw tear gas and used pepper spray on them. Best said that they did use those tactics, but that their use “wasn’t arbitrary.”
