Founding Fathers Remind Us Why Our Nation is Falling Apart and How We Can Save It

Truly, I believe that the reason that our country has fallen apart so badly thus far all can be traced back to the abandoning of God in society.

For decades, those on the left have been trying to push the idea that there must be a separation between church and state, which is true, but only in the sense in which it was intended. As I’ve said elsewhere, the separation of church and state – which is not in the Constitution by the way – was only in regard to the government not being able to establish one religion or denomination (words used synonymously back then) as the official or only allowable religion for the country. All you have to do is go back to the 1700s and look at what it was like. There was one state religion, and you were persecuted if you believed differently.

Sadly, conservatives and weak-minded Christians bought this line hook and sinker and started pushing the idea as well. Now you have churches that believe that they should just stay out of politics altogether. But the issue I take with that is that Christianity is not some fun game to be played. It’s not a neat thing to do in front of people on Sundays. Being a Christian and having faith (Greek: pistus) is to give allegiance to Jesus. It’s not a mere “notitia” belief or even merely an “assensus” belief, but a fiducia faith that is accompanied by allegiance.

Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values and as John Adams put it, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People.”

James Madison wrote that our Constitution requires “sufficient virtue among men for self-government,” otherwise, “nothing less than the chains of despotism can restrain them from destroying and devouring one another.”

If you look at what’s really wrong with the country, it’s the immorality from the left. Everything that they want to push is contrary to true morality and contrary to what God asks of us.

Former Attorney General Bill Barr said recently that he believes that we’re facing the biggest crisis since the resurrection of Jesus himself.

“That’s because our whole civilization is based on the Judeo-Christian tradition, and that tradition is under sustained attack by increasingly militant secular forces,” Barr said. Among such forces, Barr said, were the many so-called “progressives.”

Our country was a Christian nation at one time. People can say that it wasn’t, but it’s not true at all. I’m not going to make the argument that they perfectly understood scripture the same or even properly, but by-and-large, they believed in God and Jesus Christ as the Savior of mankind, and they pledged their allegiance to him and that was demonstrated through their love of country.

So, what can we do about it? How can we save the Republic? By turning back to God and reclaiming our government. Christians need to be in power, not immoral tyrants.
