Good Cause! GoFundMe For Staff Sgt. Mark De Alencar — The Fallen Green Beret

So this is considered by many to be the catalyst for the MOAB Bombing on Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Mark De Alencar died from injuries sustained during a fire fight with ISIS extremists last week. The 37 year old hero was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group. He was the provider of 5 children and thankfully a GoFundMe Account was setup in his honor.

What’s even better is that it’s far far exceeded the asked for $15,000. Folks from all over have given to the family of this hero. Thus far it’s at $301,591.

The page reads…

I started this page in hope to raise money for a Special Forces soldier. My name is Nikki Damron. Mark was a close friend of my husbands and my family, a hard working soldier and more importantly, an amazing father. Mark was recently killed in combat during his teams rotation in Afghanistan. He leaves behind a loving wife who now has the task of raising their 5 kids on her own. The youngest being 3 and the oldest being 17 if I recall correctly. This will be a very rough task on both his wife and the older of the kids who will be forced to take a larger role in supporting their younger siblings.

The GofundMe campaign was started by a family friend in an effort to help De Alencar’s wife and five children who range in age from 3 to 17.

“Our community has been hit hard in the last passing months and I just felt the need to try and do my part and help out his family,” Nikki Damron wrote on the GoFundMe page, adding that De Alencar’s wife “now has the task of raising their five kids on her own.”

This seriously is a worthy cause. Click here to check out the GoFundMe page. Read the message, read the comments, and donate if you can. Let’s make sure his family, and the rest of the American people, know he did not die in vain.
