We should all be concerned about the direction that our public schools are heading. In fact, they’ve been headed that way for a long time.
One concerned parent, Dave Flynn, actually spoke up against what he saw in the classroom, that being racism being taught. As a result, he lost his job as the head football coach of Dedham High School.
Thankfully, this coach isn’t sitting on the sidelines – he’s taking the District to court in a fight for his job and for what is right.
When his daughter (enrolled in the same school district, along with her brother) brought him her World History homework, he ended up with more questions than answers.
The lawsuit states that rather than world history, the class was teaching and instructing “on issues of race, gender, stereotypes, discrimination, and politics”. Not the sort of ancient history he was expecting to encounter.
One of the assignments even included identifying “mitigating” and “risk” factors when doing simple things such as walking down the street with someone of a different race.
White students were encouraged to fear “aggressive body language” from blacks, while black students were encouraged to fear all whites. All races were encouraged to fear police officers.
Let’s not get started on the cartoon depiction of a teacher in a BLM shirt.
When the principal refused to address the clear political propaganda in the classrooms, Coach Flynn decided to warn other parents via email.
He was fired shortly after.
In a letter from the superintendent, they said they were “sorry” to inform parents that he would not be reappointed as Head Coach. It went on to say, “We met with Mr. Flynn today because he has expressed significant philosophical difference with the direction, goals, and values of the school district. Due to these differences, we felt it best to seek different leadership for the program at the time.”
While there is a petition to reinstate the coach, it’s doubtful he will be reappointed.
