A new minimum age and license requirement for the purchase of a “semiautomatic rifle” are two of the ten new proposals for gun control that New York Governor Kathy Hochul (who was not elected) unveiled alongside the leaders of the state assembly.
The right to bear arms is protected by the Second Amendment, which stipulates that it “shall not be infringed upon.”
“New York already has some of the toughest gun restrictions in the country — but there’s more work to do to keep New Yorkers safe,” Hochul tweeted on Tuesday. ” We are going to strengthen gun laws, give law enforcement tools to prevent crime, & stop the spread of dangerous weapons.”

We are going to strengthen gun laws, give law enforcement tools to prevent crime, & stop the spread of dangerous weapons.
Here's our plan ⬇️

Today’s tyrannical governments include Communist China, Australia, and New Zealand. They all have one thing in common: before turning dictatorial, they disarmed their citizens. It’s possible that it will happen here as well. Supporters of gun control laws are useful idiots for dictators like Kathy Hochul and other Democrats who want to disarm you so the government can rule you.
On the governor’s website, the unelected governor listed the new gun control bills:
“The bills would: require information sharing between state, local and federal agencies when guns are used in crimes; make threatening mass harm a crime; require microstamping for new guns; increase accountability for social media platforms; eliminate grandfathering of large capacity ammunition feeding devices; prohibit the purchase of body armor for anyone who is not engaged in an eligible profession; strengthen the Red Flag law by expanding the list of people who can file for Extreme Risk Protection Orders, and other measures; require that an individual obtain a license, with a minimum age of 21, to purchase a semiautomatic rifle; and close the ‘any other weapon’ loophole.”
Because the phrase “assault weapons” turns most people off because it’s based on a left-wing political fiction, the gun tyrants are now using the term “semiautomatic” as if it’s a terrible thing.
Hochul sent out a message on Twitter about her push to raise the age of purchase and demand a license for “semiautomatic” rifles.
“The gunmen in Buffalo and Uvalde both legally purchased the rifles they used to commit mass murders at the age of 18. So we’re raising the age requirement to 21 to obtain a license to purchase a semiautomatic rifle.”

Hochul also prohibited the purchase of a body armor vest in a tweet published at the same time.
“Law enforcement and military service members need body armor vests to do their job safely. Most civilians don’t. Our bill makes purchasing body armor vests unlawful for anyone not engaged in an eligible profession. All sales of vests will also be required to be done in person.”

WSHU noted that once these prohibitions on semiautomatic guns are supported by the public, Hochul wants to expand the bans to include all firearms.
“We are doing everything we can to ensure that our laws are tight, they’re ironclad, to ensure that our law enforcement have the resources they need,” Hochul said.
Hochul told reporters that she wants to expand the state’s existing ban on some assault weapons to include what are called AOWs, or any other weapon. She said some of these guns are functionally assault weapons.
Hochul believes the gunman could have lawfully purchased the magazine he used in Pennsylvania, which is about a ten-minute drive from his home.
“What was used was not able to be purchased legally in the state of New York,” Hochul said. “The basic gun was, but the high-capacity magazine associated with it had to come from another state, because it is illegal in the state of New York.”
Is Kathy Hochul telling us that she’s so ignorant that she thinks a criminal won’t buy a magazine because there’s a statute prohibiting it? In New York, there exist laws banning the murder of people, but it happens every day. You do everything you can to prevent it, but expecting criminals to follow the law is foolish.
Guns will not be outlawed nationwide. It is prohibited by the Second Amendment. And if gun grabbers want to argue that the Second Amendment only applies to the federal government, they’d better be ready to repeal everything they’ve built in the states based on the bogus notion that the 14th Amendment, that magical amendment that liberals claim makes the Bill of Rights apply to the states, applies to them. They can’t have their cake and eat it too.
I’d like one professional reporter to question Hochul about which bill a criminal will follow.
