When it comes to Big Tech, they are nearly monopolies. They are about as close to being government agencies as you can get without actually being one.
They work very closely with the government in several capacities.
These companies are very greedy and to a certain extent, I can understand it a little bit. But there comes a point down the road where profits should take a back seat to the employees and the company overall. They make a ton of money, that’s not changing, unless they act foolish, like Google.
Now, a lawsuit is being brought against Google after a group of 36 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. have brought accusations of antitrust against the tech giant.
Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Utah are the ones who are leading the lawsuit, but ultimately, there may be other states that join in as well.
The lawsuit is in response to Google’s new plan which will force app developers that use the Google Play Store to pay a whopping 30% commission on the sale of all goods and services. 30 PERCENT!
That is outrageous. And for what? What are they doing to deserve 30% of their sales? Absolutely nothing.
Just think about how ridiculous that is. They’re wanting to take 30%, the government is wanting to take 30%. They are out to get the little man. Instead of us just being free to conduct business without being exploited, we’re fined and taxed out the butt.

Wednesday’s suit is the latest challenge to the search giant’s plan to force all app developers who use its Google Play Store to pay a 30 percent commission on sales of digital goods or services. The change is set to go into effect in September.
The case mirrors one filed against Google by Fortnite-make Epic Games last August, and a barrage of antitrust class actions filed on behalf of app developers and consumers who allege Google’s policies have led to higher prices.
The bipartisan group of state attorneys general filed Wednesday’s case in the same court as those other app store lawsuits. It will be heard by the same judge, James Donato, an Obama appointee, who has scheduled a trial in Epic’s suit against Google for April 2022.
I’ve mentinoe dit before, but at this point, I’m in favor of doing something to stop their tyranny. The problem is that we let these companies get so massive that we become dependent on them and have a hard time stepping away.

Many times, we don’t search for something on the internet, we “Google it”. Facebook is our primary way of communicating with people. Amazon is where we buy almost everything online. We allowed this to happen.
