If you would have been digging through a dictionary a year ago, one word that you may not have found would have been “wokeism”.
This new and stupid idea has been a bane on society since it’s conception. Now it’s everywhere.
Unfortunately, there isn’t anything innocent about wokeism. It is an overwhelming tidal wave of cultural control being exercised by a radical minority in the United States. There is a growing sense of arrogant entitlement, which says, if anything offends you just erase it.
This can be words, statues, pictures, cartoons, or even actual events that happened in history. If you don’t like it, just label it racism or bigotry, or some other form of bad behavior. It doesn’t matter what the actual truth is.
If something offends these new “woke” Americans, it must be eliminated. This insane sense of offensive entitlement has bled into certain major U.S. corporations. At the risk of offending these ultra-sensitive wokeists, companies such as Coca-Cola, Nike, and American Airlines have tried to manipulate and censor their customer’s opinions.
Major League Baseball pulled the annual All-Star Game out of Atlanta, Georgia as some kind of symbolic gesture to support the woke culture. The plan, along with other types of corporate woke conformity, are beginning to backfire.
MLB’s decision was so obvious it was almost laughable. Consumers’ Research is a nonprofit organization that advocates for honest consumer information. The organization has launched an ad campaign to expose the hypocrisy of these corporations who are trying to appease the woke culture.
As an example, Major League Baseball’s bonehead decision was supposedly based on some high-and-mighty sense of freedom against Georgia ballot legislation. This head-scratching decision flies in the face of hypocrisy.
The MLB is a business. As a business, they have been expanding their interests into China. Yes folks, this is the same MLB that yanked a financial windfall out of Atlanta, Georgia, but still supports a suppressive communist dictatorship. Can you see the hypocrisy, if not for the irony?
The Consumers’ Research initiative is calling out these corporations for putting political ideologies, think finances for a moment, before their customers. We’d think that alienating half your consumer base to appease a radical minority wouldn’t be in the best interest of your stockholders.
Consumers’ Research feels the same way. While the MLB ties to China were discussed when that decision happened, both Coca-Cola and Nike use exploited Chinese workers to produce their products cheaper.
Where are the wokeists in defense of the abused and mistreated Chinese labor force? Yeah, the choices by these corporate clucks to adhere to woke culture communist ideologies reeks of hypocrisy. Consumers’ Research thinks it also reeks of consumer bias.
Even more ironic is how these corporate decisions show total disrespect for the foundation of American values. MLB attacked free and fair elections, while other companies have ignored worker rights and freedom of speech.
Maybe these corporate clowns are actually helping the situation. Each time they jump on board the woke culture bandwagon, they bring the total hypocrisy of the idea front and center. Consumers’ Research thinks they’ll help this cause.
