Step Dad Labeled A ‘Racist’ For Not Allowing 12-Year-Old To Finish Homework – He Has A Good Reason
[Houghton-Le-Spring-England] Mark McLachlan, 43, discovered the bizarre school assignment when checking his 12-year-old stepdaughter’s backpack. McLachlan says he understands that children learn about other religions, and does not disagree with that, but this particular assignment was enough to raise serious concerns, to any parent.
The teacher tasked the young students with writing a mock letter to their family about converting over to Islam. McLachlan knew that, in addition to the assignment being inappropriate, his daughter would be exposed to the hundreds of horror stories online.
Stories of radicals who converted to the Muslim faith and then sought destruction. Just look what happened to him whenever he took his concerns up with the school.

Nicola Cooper, the school’s principal, said: ‘At Kepier we feel it is very important to introduce our learners to all faiths and cultures and we do this throughout the academic year.
‘For example, next week we will be celebrating all faiths during National Inter Faith Week.
‘We welcomed Mr McLachlan into school earlier this week and were happy to explain to him how we explore all faiths and cultures.
‘Our Culture and Wellbeing programme of study is in line with the National Curriculum and we believe it provides the basis for a broad, balanced and engaging introduction to the areas typically taught in RE and PSHCE.’
