TRULY HORRIFYING – Remains of HUNDREDS of Children Found at Residential School

This sounds like something that came straight out of a good horror movie.

The remains of more than 200 indigenous children of Canada have been discovered along the grounds of an old residential school that has been out of operation for decades.

The school was closed in the late 1970s, but this school has a long history of creepiness.

Yahoo News Canada reported,

The bodies of the 215 children were discovered during a search of the grounds of the former residential school, the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation announced Thursday. A statement from the First Nation said that the missing children, some as young as three years old, were undocumented deaths.

Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Kukpi7 (Chief) Rosanne Casimir told CBC’s Daybreak Kamloops on Friday that more than symbolic gestures are needed to address the tragedy.

“It’s all good and well for the federal government to make gestures of goodwill and support regarding the tragedy,” Casimir said. “There is an important ownership and accountability to both Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc and all communities and families that are affected. And that needs to happen and take place.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted,

The news that remains were found at the former Kamloops residential school breaks my heart – it is a painful reminder of that dark and shameful chapter of our country’s history. I am thinking about everyone affected by this distressing news. We are here for you.

Kamloops, once the largest residential school in Canada, with about 500 pupils at its peak, was operated by the Catholic Church until 1969, when the federal government took over.

Trudeau even tried to elicit a formal apology from Pope Francis, but he declined. I’m surprised he declined in a way, but at the same time, it makes sense because he doesn’t want to admit that the Roman Catholic Church did anything wrong.
