Trump Responds to Potential Trump-DeSantis 2024 Ticket

The majority of experts are adamant that former President Trump will run. Similarly, although not everyone agrees, most feel that he will be the clear front-runner for the Republican nomination.

The popularity of the president’s list among conservatives seems to be on the decline.  Regardless of what President Trump decides to do, hungry Republican candidates are considering campaigning for the nomination as Joe Biden’s time in the White House is quickly crumbling.

Most people still haven’t responded definitively in either direction. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is now the front-runner, regardless of whether or not President Trump runs again. DeSantis has gained favor just by defending his home state.

The popular governor will make a run to retain that office first. He is popular with parents, including most Florida independents. As the Hispanic population continues to drift towards the Republican Party, DeSantis’ campaign should welcome that trend.

Florida is heavily populated with Hispanic voters. Nevertheless, after he most likely reclaims the governorship in Florida, the rumblings will grow louder for him to make a run for president. Newsweek even considers DeSantis the Republican frontrunner ahead of President Trump.

DeSantis’ ascent to the upper echelon on the Republican presidential ticket has a lot of pundits asking hard questions. What if DeSantis runs regardless of President Trump’s decision? Others point to a possible combination Trump/DeSantis ticket.

In a Newsmax interview, President Trump did not discount the possibility of pairing up with the popular Florida governor. He said, “Well, I get along with him. I was very responsible for his success, because I endorsed him, and he went up like a rocket ship.”

President Trump was referring to his 2018 endorsement of DeSantis for the Governor of Florida. In all fairness, DeSantis’ appeal skyrocketed after the endorsement. He subsequently beat Democrat Andrew Gillum.

However, that was in 2018. Since winning the governorship, DeSantis’ policies have helped propel him into the national limelight. Much of his popularity has been his penchant for slamming back at the mainstream media and standing up against the radical’s liberal ideology.

This was a cornerstone of President Trump’s conservative popularity. While the Florida governor has downplayed the notion he’s prime for a presidential run, it’s got the pundits talking. Although DeSantis says he’s focused on his state, the prospects must be inviting.

When reports surface that he may now have inched ahead of President Trump in popularity with conservatives, things might be even more inviting. President Trump spoke to the New Yorker Magazine about this possibility.

He said, “I don’t know if Ron is running, and I don’t ask him. It’s his prerogative. I think I would win.” President Trump has yet to officially announce his intentions. Nevertheless, most believe his announcement to run for a second term is a foregone conclusion.

Longtime Republican strategist Ed Rollins told The Epoch Times, “The information that I’ve gotten the last several weeks is Trump is definitely running.” This may be setting up as a heavyweight battle for the Republican presidential nomination.

President Trump, with Ron DeSantis as Vice President, would be a powerful ticket. With the abysmal performance of Joe Biden, either man should be an overwhelming favorite to claim the White House. But overwhelming favorites don’t always win in politics.

As with the 2020 presidential election, sometimes outcomes are manipulated. Both President Trump and Governor DeSantis would battle against the corrupt liberal machine. Regardless of how the Republican campaign plays out, one of these two men must and should win.

The future of America depends on President Trump or Governor Ron DeSantis coming to its rescue. It could come from either one as a presidential candidate, or the combination of them as a team. Time will tell who gets nominated to “Save America.”
