There is a side of President Trump that you rarely see in public. It includes actions that are selfless and caring for others. You will never see this side of Trump in the media for the most part because it makes him look good. Last night in Pennsylvania, Trump spoke to a wild, packed house.
The rally was held for Rep. Lou Barletta in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. During his speech, Trump covered his meeting last month with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the upcoming midterm elections and his new strategy for getting funding to build a border wall. It was exciting and patriotic as usual.
But at one point, in the middle of Trump’s boisterous speech, a woman had a medical emergency. President Trump was right in the middle of stumping for local Republican candidates and covering the accomplishments of his administration when a woman fainted. The president stopped what he was doing immediately to inquire if she was okay, “Are you okay? You okay? Are they okay? You’re all right?” The president motioned for medical assistance saying, “We got to stick with those people — they’ve been here for many hours, thank you, darling. Thank you.”
It didn’t end there, however. Trump made an offer to the woman that was extremely thoughtful and kind. He told the woman, “If you want to come back after you get a little bit better, come back. Bring her back. Make sure she gets better, we will bring her up here. Beautiful.”
The audience cheered and roared approval at the offer. His reaction sent the crowd out of their seats and onto their feet. President Trump made sure to thank the medical crew who helped the woman before continuing on with the event.
This isn’t the first time that President Trump has stopped an event when someone had a medical emergency. Last April, the president held a rally in Michigan while the rest of Washington attended the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner. During his speech, he noticed a disruption in the crowd and called for a doctor, waiting to resume his speech until the medical personnel helped the person in need.
He also did something similar last year when another woman fainted. This is a president who truly cares about people and is not afraid to show it or to interrupt whatever is going on to help someone. That’s the mark of a true leader.
