I have on several occasions contemplated what exactly I would want done if I were to ever go into a coma or become a medically diagnosed vegetable.
Would I want my loved ones to pull the plug on me and let me go, or would it be worth it for me to remain in that state with the hopes of coming out of it?
People do come out of comas after long periods of time. I’ve read and heard several accounts where people finally wake up after years and years and that they were aware of everything the entire time.
The truth is that while doctors may say that one may never come out of a coma or vegetable state at times, nobody really knows.
A great case in point is a West Virginia woman who recently woke from her coma after two years.
Back in 2020 she was violently attacked and really shouldn’t have survived the attack. Miraculously though, she did.
Too Fab reported,
On June 10, 2020, lawn care workers reportedly found Wanda Palmer unconscious at her Ravensville, West Virginia home with severe head injuries. Her mother, Eileen Palmer, said “They came that morning to mow her grass and found her in a pool of blood.”
“I wouldn’t have wagered a nickel for her life that morning, she was in that bad of shape. Quite honestly, she was unconscious, circling the drain medically,” Sheriff Ross Mellinger of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office told Fox11. “Massive, massive amounts of head trauma, consistent with some sort of machete or hatchet-type injury.”
Toward the end of last month, she awakened from her coma and slowly started to speak. When he speech improved enough, she was finally able to speak about her attacker and inform the police of who it was.
As it turned out, it was her very own brother who attacked her and left her for dead.
Wanda’s brother has since been arrested and is being charged with attempted murder of his sister. Hopefully, this man rots in prison.
